Janet, Thanks so much for the info about long names. I have been asking
fellow researchers if they had any idea why my gggrandfather was the only
child of 11 who had four given names, John Gias Nicholas Freeman CLARK. No
one knew. Does anyone know a Nicholas Freeman? Anyone familiar with the
name Gias? John GNF, as he is known, was b. March 25, 1809 to John Clark
and Emelia SIKES probably in Twiggs Co. or Laurens Co. GA. We think their
family previously lived in SC and were cattle herders along the NC/SC border.
John GNF was the second boy born to this union. We do think his father might
have been married before he married Emelia. Finding Nicholas Freeman, if
there is one, might help me find the parents of John's father, John Clark.
In put appreciated. Sandy
