I need help with an elusive family.

It looks like this Wilson family started out in Spartanburg county
SC, then Sumter cty, moved to TN after 1840 and then came to Murray county GA in
1849 or 1850.

1850 Murray county GA census, alphabetized and annotated. On it:
John E. Wilson Jr 30 b SC, Sarah J. 24 b SC, Martha V 7 b TN, Nancy M 2 b TN
Nancy Gordan 45 b VA (Sarah's mother?)

2 houses down - John E Wilson Sr 62 b SC,   Louisa 23 b SC

I believe they may have been in Sumter county SC during 1840 census

I found John E Wilson, Sr on the 1820 & 1830 Spartanburg county SC
census

John E Wilson Sr b 1788 in SC
John E Wilson Jr b December 27, 1817 in SC

I am looking for any info about this family and suggestions about where I might
look are also welcome!!
