Subject: John Cooper Sr., Rutherford Co NC b. about 1810 From: James and Sue Stone Date: March 11, 2001 I am looking for information on John Cooper Sr., of Rutherford County NC. I don't know who his parents were. I suspect he (John Cooper Sr.), was born in Rutherford Co NC about 1810, (give or take ten years) based upon the known age of his son Newton C. Cooper. John Cooper Sr. married Cecelia (Sisaly) Butler, also of the Rutherford Co NC area. One son of John Cooper Sr and Cecelia Butler Cooper was Newton C. Cooper. b. 1835 in Rutherford County NC. Newton C. Cooper served in the 16th NC Infantry, Company D from March 1862 and survived the war. Newton married Lucinda Boheler, daughter of Jacob Boheler and Polly Downey. Any information on John Cooper Sr., Celelia Butler, Jacob Boheler (Beheler?) or Polly Downey is welcome. I am also interested in knowing the connection between Jacob Boheler (Beheler) and the Beheler's/Boheler's who served in the 17th SC Volunteers, Company F. James Stone 1276 E.
