John Buckner was married three times and had about 14 children
he was a Rev. War soldier and drew a pension therefrom.
I am trying to prove his list of descendants some of which are
as follows and it could be that some of the following are not his.
Born in VA he stopped for a while in Spartanburg where apparently he
got his wife Diana Grant. their chn are likely;
Aaron b. 1775, John Buckner jr.b. abt 1785, Mary Polly b. 1793
m. Benjamin Sumner, Ephraim b. 1810 m. eliz. wilson went to GA.
Then he married Margaret Payne apparently in Pickens dist SC
their chn are likely to be:
Rhoda b. abt 1790, Reuben, Joshua 1772, Hiram, james, Charolet,
Robert, Leonard, Thomas, steven, Moses m. Mary Atkinson, Washington
m. Elizabeth Toney.
His last known place of abode was Oconee Co SC
His last marriage was a marriage for convenience to Frances Dodd
who filed for and got his Rev War pension but apparently
never lived with him so these  children are not his Mary Mahala and
Elizabeth.
