John Bain HOOD evidently published a newspaper in Camden SC in the early
1800s, possibly around 1802-1803.  It appears that he moved to TN after that,
establishing newspapers in various counties.  He also established newspapers
at Hunstville AL and in northern GA before moving back to Athens TN, where he
died in 1863.

He was evidently the brother of my ancestor, Nathaniel HOOD.  Both men were
sons of Robert and Elizabeth HOOD, who lived in Greene Co. TN ca 1780.  Where
did this family live prior to settling in TN?  Did they come from the Camden
SC area and John stayed behind to work on the newspaper?

I'd appreciate any help with this puzzle.
