Know all me by these presents that I Jemmy Pearson a free negro of the state
and district aforesaid, Planter, for and inconsideration of the natural love
I bear towear my daughter named Molly, as wellas the sum of five shillings
to me in hadn paid at an before the sealing and delivery of these presents,
by the said wench Molly, the recipts whereof I do hereby acknowledge have
granted, sold, released, and confirmed and by these presents do grant sell
release and confirm unto the said wench Molly her full and abolute freedom
hereby releasing her the said wench Molly from a state of slavery and
bondage and making her by these presents fully absolutely and forever free
in every sense, conception and meaning of the right privileges and
advantages belonging to a state of freedom unto the said wench and the issue
of her body forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors,
administrator and assigns to warrant and forever defend unto the wench Molly
and the issue of her body and their full and absolute freedom against myself
and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming to claim
the said wench Molly.  Witness my hand and seal this second day of August in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen signed sealed
and delivered in the prescence of us
