Jean, If I may offer the following suggestions and/or advice. I too thought
I already knew some history. Well lo and behold I have found out after 2 yrs
that I didn't know anything right about my grandmother. She told some "tall
tales" to save face. Since she has been gone for 15 yrs and no one wanted to
tell the truth, trust me they will cover also. I could have saved so
much time if I had started with me and worked backwards. Instead I started
with her father and wasted alot of time trying to prove her "tales"
I dont care how much (I think) I know, I now go over everything. I work as
if I didnt know the family and I start from the beginning and dont believe
anything I have been told. May take longer but atleast I'm not running
around in circles trying to prove something that never existed.
BTW I live in Tampa, FL and will gladly help you research anything if I can
here in FL. So many people have helped me this is the only way I can repay
them is by doing the same for soemone else.
