Hi

I'm new to SC research and to this list, so I hope my question is not
"beating a dead horse".  From the 1790/1800 SC censuses, I have traced
James SWAN back to SC.  My first step is to try and obtain any info on land
grants/ownership and that is where I need some assistance.  I need to know
or, at least, have a reasonable plan-of-attack where to look for any land
records.

What I have is:   In the 1790 census, James SWAN was listed in the
Ninety-Six District, Pendleton Co, and in 1800, he was in Pendleton
District.  If it is any help, in the 1800 census he was also listed in Col.
Kilpatrick's Regiment. Any help or leads would be most appreciated.
