For Helen Alexander,
I don't have documentation on the Rev. War unit of Jacob Felder, but am
wondering if you are familiar with the information about Hans Henry Felder,
Sr., and his family in Marchant Culler's "Orangeburgh District, 1768 -
1868." Culler says that Henry "served as captain of a militia company in
Orangeburgh District, probably Rowe's regiment." then, "Felder's seven
sons - Henry, Jacob, John, Frederick, Samuel, Abraham, and Peter - also
served in his company; John was captured by the British and killed while
trying to escape." There's a total of about one and one-half pages of
discussion of the Hans Henry Felder family, and especially their Rev. War
activities, including his death during the fight when Tories burned his
house.
