Subject: Is AVATINE a surname or a given name? From: Glenna Kinard Date: September 23, 2000 Is anyone familiar with the name of Avatine? My gg grandmother's name was M. Emily Avatine McCants. I do not know if Avatine is a surname; I have not run across it as a given name. She was from Fairfield County SC and married Rev. Charles M. PORTER. Anyone have any ideas?
