Janet, and others,

Randy Floyd has done a great deal of research on the Pendarvis family,
and is planning a book. If you do an archives search of the
Orangeburgh_SC-L at Rootsweb you'll find many postings by Randy and
others on the Pendarvises, including some relating to Indian Field
Church, which I seem to recall was built on land owned by a Pendarvis.
