What is ICQ and why is everyone talking about it?

ICQ ("I Seek You") is a program that lets you find your friends and associates
online in real time. You can create a Contact List containing only people you
want to have there, you can send them messages, chat with them, send files,
configure ICQ to work with external applications and more.

How to Use ICQ 

- Download and install the ICQ Installation file. 

- Register yourself using the registration wizard. 

- Add your friends & associates using the Add Contacts Wizard. These are the
people you want to be notified about. 

- Right-click on a user's name in the Contact List in order to initiate (send)
events (like Chat, File transfer etc.). 

- When an event arrives, a flashing icon appears near the user who has sent it.
Double click on it to accept. 

- General functions (like adding a new friend, preferences etc.) can be done

This Guide deals only with the Simple Mode of ICQ and not with any Advanced Mode
Features.

ICQ is launched automatically upon the turning on of your computer. If this is
not so, click the yellow ICQ cubic icon.

NOTE: My experience has been that AOL is not fully compatible and the ICQ
program may not automatically startup when you login to the Internet using AOL. 
But, all you need to do to start ICQ manally is click on the ICQ icon in your
Windows 95 taskbar, or in wherever the ICQ icon is located in your system.
