The death index starts in 1916. You do not purchase from the Archives the 
death index. They are purchased from the address given at the Department of 
Health, DHEC 2600 Bull St., Columbia, SC 29201. This is the address at the 
top of the letter 
dated Jan 18, 2000 when I received my last update.
