Subject: Holsonback/Holsomback/Holsonbake From: Judith G. Brabham Date: May 02, 2000 Hello Conrad, No metion of Holsonback/Holsomback/Holsonbake in "Greenwood County Sketches;" however there are two, not too informative mentions in Pauline Young's "Abstracts of Old Ninety-Six and Abbeville District Wills and Bonds." You probably already have these, but just in case you don't, here goes. CUMMINS, ROBERT--BOX 17, PACK 346. Will dated Dec. 7, 1818 in Abbeville Dist. Proved Feb. 10, 1824. Exrs: Hugh Moriah, Esq., Saml. Watt. Wit: Andrew Hamilton, Jno Finley. Wife, Mary M. Gr. Chn: Alexr. Martin Cummins, Salley Williams Cummins, Jenny Robison Cummins, Polly Ann Eliza Cummins. Sett. Made Jan. 9 1838. Isaac HOLSONBACK married Polly Cummins. Jenny Sally Cummins died. (p. 54) A "Wm. HOLSONBACK" is listed among the witnesses to the Jan. 2, 1847 Will of George Palmer (Box 120, Pack 3538) in Abbeville District. This entry ends with the disconnected statement: "Owned land on Buffalow Creek," which I assume refers to land owned by George Palmer. (pgs. 480-481) Strange though they seem to me, maybe you'll found a place for these enigmatic tidbits in the puzzle you're piecing together.
