Below are the surnames I am researching and many more surnames. Please review
the following and contact me with any questions and information you may have.
There are many names included in the body of this that are not on the subject
line. Consider using a word search for specific surnames. I surely hope to get
some results, or help someone else, with this posting. I think a Vernon Murell
/ Morrill might be related also, (Macomb, OK area) so I sent this to their
list also.
Sincerely, Karen

NOTES: It is reported that Charlie was an Indian Scout for Texas Rangers and
that he was killed approximately 1879-80 during the range wars of TX. Charlie
and Oscar (his son) took the buckboard out to work on a fence. Charlie was
killed while repairing, rebuilding or building a fence by some men who rode up
on horses and shot him.

His son, Oscar was approximately 5 years old when it happened and saw it all.
Oscar ran back to the house and told his pregnant mother. They went to the
neighbors house and then they all went to see what happened. Oscar's father
was dead when they arrived at the scene.
.Some say Charlie was Chickasaw, or Pottawatomie ------------ full or 1/2. The
song "Don't fence Me In" was based on the range wars of that period.

a horse and plow. Said they moved around giving her the impression they owned
nothing. Oscar liked sitting next to Jaqueta during mealtime so he could give
her the crust -- it was too hard for him. He and she played checkers a lot and
he use to tell her mouse jokes. "Know which mouse can get into the hole the
fastest? The one with the shortest tail! Know which Mouse can get the most
molasses? The one with the longest tail!
