Subject: HENAGAN/HAYGOOD/ROGERS/BETHEA From: MLuby83326 Date: January 28, 1998 These are the surnames that I am researching. I feel that all HENAGAN (WITH THIS EXACT SPELLING ) are all a part of the same SC line of Henagans. I believe that my great grandfather may have been the son of Barnabas Henagan and his second wife. I am definite about this line: Simeon B. Henagan: born around 1812 in South Carolina (Darlington County, probably). married in Clinton LA on 9 june, 1837 to Celia Caroline Raiford. Simeon died 2 January, 1843 in St. Helena Parish, LA or Amite County MS. Succession Records dated 1843, File H3 in St. Helena Parish, LA. Simeon B. Henagan died 2 January, 1843 leaving three minor children: Mary Ann Victoria Henagan, Frances Marion Henagan, and John Mitchel Robert Henagan. St. Helena Records show Celia W. Henagan married 15 January, 1844 to Benjamin W. Cason. From census records, we know Celia had 5 other children by Benjamin W. Cason. I have found records of John, Frances M., and Mary A. V. Henagan in Amite County, MS. All having married in Amite County, MS.: John R. Henagan married 1st.: Octavia C. Haygood; married 2nd: Martha Ann Haygood (sister to Octavia and my grandmother). Frances Marion Henagan married Luiza Carroll--(they lived in East Feliciana, St. Helena, and in East Baton Rouge Parishes.) Mary A. V. Henagan married Robert E. Callender (they lived mainly in Amite County, MS around Liberty, MS.) Any information on the HENAGAN family would be appreciated.
