Terry,
I have been on that very exact mail list and, boy, are they strict.

John Donaldson's Rev. War record from the SCDAH show his birth place as
England. It may have been a mistake, but I did find out one of his best
friends in SC was one of the Kershaws, so I looked at the English Co. they
were from with no results.

North Britain was also another name for Scotland, and that may be what
he gave the record keeper the day he was asked about his birth place. This
is surely hard.

    Thanks again.

Joanne
