To all people to whom these presents shall come, I William Westbury of 
Claremont County in the State of South Carolina send greetings:  Know ye 
that I the said William Westbury for and in consideration of natural 
affection unto my cousins, the Children of John and Elizabeth Westbury, and 
for divers other good causes and considerations hereunto me moving, have 
given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant unto Jane, 
William, Thomas, Martha, Richard, Samuel, John and Jonathon, eight children 
of my uncle John Westbury, three Negroes [to wit, a A fellow called Jerry?, 
a boy called July and a wench named Nan, with her issue], To have, hold and 
enjoy all and singular the aboved named Negroes unto the said eight 
children of my uncle and aunt, John and Elizabeth Westbury, their 
executors, Administrators and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of 
them the said Jane, William, Thomas, Martha, Richard, Samuel, John and 
Jonathon Westbury, their executors, Administrators and assigns 
forever--[Provided always nevertheless the said Negroes are to be kept 
together in the possession of my aunt Elizabeth Westbury until my cousin 
Jonathan Westbury comes to the years of maturity for their maintainence, at 
which time they are to be equally divided between them] And I, the said 
William Westbury, the aforesaid Negroes to the said Eight Children of my 
uncle John Westbury, their executors, Administrators and assigns against 
all persons claiming from or under me, shall and will warrant and forever 
defend by these presents - In witness whereof I have set my hand seal this 
twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven 
hundred and ninetyone and the Independence of the United States of America 
the sixteenth.
