Thanks for sending message. You have just solved a mysteria for us. We

Nathan Gunnin was 48 years old when he married Mary Lites, she was 24.
In the 1850 Census he was given as a Clerk, age 53, with three small
children to support.
Our GUNNIN book is written by Helen Gunnin Mishasek, she states she
made many attempts to connect Mary Lites to the only family of this name
in Abbeville, SC. The head of this family was Abraham Lites. She could
not find a connection between Mary and this family. She does list the
children of Nathan Gunnin and Mry Lites:
1. Emma G. Gunnin, b. 3-14-1847, Abbeville

Cemetery, she
married James R. Lites

they had 5 children.
6. Joseph Gunnin b. 8-13-1856, Pickens, d. 4-21-1876.

d.7-8-1910, they had 8 children
From Helen in book: I only learned of this group in 1979, and had the
pleasure of meeting Rosa May Collins, wife of Charles Oliver, at a
couple of reunions, but with little chance to ask questions. Maybe
someone can fill in the gaps for us - HGM
Now maybe the gaps can be filled in. Can you tell me about the Lites
and any thing else about the Gunnins? My husband is on down the line,
his name is Emery Aaron Gunnin,Jr.
