Subject: Re: Grays Hill, Beaufort County, SC From: jsmith Date: May 07, 1999 Grays Hill is sort of an area, not really a town, it's not really much of a hill either. It doesn't have an actual identifiable town center. Part of it abuts the Whale Branch River near where the Whale Branch connects with the Broad River. One of the main roads into the town of Beaufort, Route 21 passes thru a portion of Grays Hill. A good starting point for learning the history of Grays Hill might be The Historic Beaufort Foundation. I don't know if they are on line or not but the telephone works. Call Dave Schneider, the director at 843 524-6334. Good luck!
