Subject: Re: Grave positions From: BARRY JACKSON Date: May 25, 1998 Hello everyone, Eight years ago, I thought I had the perfect job for someone that loves genealogy. People loved to talk about family members and their connections and they always come to you. I sold grave monuments. Like everyone else, I used to call them tombstones but was very quickly corrected. What we erect at the grave site is nothing like the stone placed at Christ's tomb. Graves are traditionally laid out with the foot facing east so that at the second coming, the dead can rise up. Husband and wife are buried the way they stand before God and the preacher. If the graves were laid correctly, when you stand at the foot of the grave and put your left arm out, you should have it over the husband.
