Granville Co help needed - J Jilote

I have found a Land Record for Elizabeth SHOAK for an area
of Stephens Creek dated (1756, earliest date on document)
1764/09/03 (from index), Granville Co. Signed by Christian
Limbaker. There is also a name which looks like CORTZ, or
CONTZ.

Can anyone tell me where this is located?

Is there anyone with experience (and luck) in reading the
text of this time period (and smudged or bleeding microfilm)
that is willing to try to descipher the microfilm copy that
I have? I'll mail you a copy if you dare..~

And would this area be part of one of the settlements of
French Huguenots (Swiss) that departed to Granville instead
of Hillsboro?

With my family name of SHOAK (SHOKES, SCHOCH, SCHOCKES) it
seems very possible that they may have been
German-Swiss-French Episcopalians <>

Are there any other lists of persons from Switzerland? Does
anyone have access to the Granville Co. records of that time
(1756-1764), or know of any other resources I could look
into for further info.? Text, records, etc. (and hopefully,
copies available at the Chas. library).

Blah, blah, blah... still looking!
