My line is Christopher GORMAN who came from Pittsylvania Co, VA, and purchased
100 acres in Edgefield Co SC in about 1788, from either Michael or William
ABNEY.  This land adjoined that of Christopher's son, JOHN GORMAN.  SAMUEL
GORMAN owned land on the other side of John's land.  

Christopher's wife (signed documents in VA and SC) was Susannah ____ .
Known sons of Christopher were JOHN  GORMAN ;  JOSEPH GORMAN ; and WILLIAM
GORMAN .  There were probably others - perhaps SAMUEL GORMAN  was one - and
there were almost certainly daughters as well.

The wife of JOHN GORMAN  was Hannah.  We think she was daughter of William
SPRAGINS/SPRAGGINS, also of Edgefield Co, SC.  

Time period was 1762 to about 1785, Pittsylvania Co, Virginia.  In SC, John
received Land Grants in Edgefield Co, near the Saludy River, for his service
in the Rev. War; and purchased others.  John GORMAN 's Will written 1798;
proven 1803 - Edgefield Co, SC.  His second wife was Nancy NICHOLSON, md circa
1797.

Related names:  ABNEY, BERRY, GIBSON, SPRAGINS,  NICHOLSON.

Am interested in learning as much as possible concerning any of the GORMAN
family of Virginia-South Carolina-Georgia-Alabama, up through (but not
