I grew up just outside the gate of Good Hope Plantation. My father says that when he was a kid he use to work on the plantation for extra money and my mother says she use to attend dances there. It's a lovely plantation and is located on Hwy. 278 in Grahamville, SC (near Ridgeland, Jasper County...the most southern part of SC). Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is located just outside the gate also. It is now owned by the Cooler family. I have heard that they do not allow visitors / tourists. Many of our plantations welcome them. I wish I could help you with your questions. I have included some web sites, including my own, to help you learn about the south and our lowcountry plantations. Hope this is the Good Hope you are looking for. There are possibly many other plantations in the south with the name Good Hope. Good luck with your search!
