Richmond which lists every person on the rosters and muster rolls for
EVERY unit that fought in the Civil War. 

That would be Broadfoot's set.  The Confederate books are complete, but
the Union have not been completed.  Considering that the Confederate work
was begun in 1901 and only finished last year, I don't expect to see the
complete Union rosters anytime soon.

This index will show you the person's name and their service unit -
nothing more.   Be sure and look for all possible combinations of
initials and spellings, so check
