There was some discussion on th origin of "BLACK DUTCH" on several
lists and I couldn't remember which. I thought someone on all the

Muns is most likely a name of German origin. Fletcher is not. It may
well be, however, that your grandmother was of mixed ancestry. "Black
Dutch" usually refers to Germans of Catholic religion, presumably
because nuns and priests wear black garb.
