Subject: GERMAN FUSILIER SOCIETY From: Bro0075 Date: December 23, 1998 While perusing Filby's "Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1996 Supplement", I came across my ancestor, Johann Conrad Schlupp. He was listed as follows : Schlupp, Conrad; Charleston, SC 1775-1781 I wrote the Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public Library citing the original sources quoted in Filby and was sent the following information : Conrad Schlupp was a member of the German Fusulier Company of Charleston, SC I have researched the libraries of Charleston, SC seeking information on this society and have come across very little. There is a book, "History of the German Fusiliers of Charleston, SC 1775-1892, and the Story of the Visit of the Veteran Zouvers of Elizabethport, NJ", which sheds some light on the subject, but I would like to find out more. Can Anyone help? Also, was "Pioniere Verein" a German Society of Charleston?
