unknown name cemetery...located in Elbert Co Ga G.M.D. 197        1.1/2
miles on hwy 72 east of intersection of Ga St hwys 17 & 72,turn north on
dirt road off hwy 72 over bridge over Seaboard R.R. tracks.turn left.go
300 yds to fork i road, bear right and go approx 2.1/10 mile past Ga
Power Co right of way(with high voltage lines crossing road overhead)to
cemetery site on left side of road about 50ft into pine woods
note this cemetery is NOT shown on Ga Hwy dept map of Elbert Co
According to a lcal resident Mr Dock ortson who helped find this
cemetery. there was a black church in this immeadiate area many years
ago.which is now gone,although he did not know if the cemetery was black
or white Also further along the road where the old Upshaw homeplace was
many years ago. although he didnt know how long ago that was. or what
Upshaws lived there
Cornelia Upshaw died 1892 age 20 yrs
