Yes, they are indexed and I did find George Chicken in several entries in 1710-1718. On pg. 268 April 23, 1718 The Board sent a letter to Capt. Glover stating "Resolved and ordered that a Quantity of dry Goods and Rum be provided and sent up to the respective Plantations of those Persons who are to deal with the neighbouring Indians, for Skins, Furs, &c. on Behalf of the Publick, by Direction of this Board, viz.; Col. George Chicken, Col. John Fenwicke, Mr. Samll. Deane, Col. Jno. Barnwell, Capt. Thomas Dymes and such Others as are willing to undertake that Business; and that the Clerk of this Board, above mentioned, for their better Information and Direction in Trading with the said Indians; together with an Invoice of the Goods sent to each of them for Sale, viz.;" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pg.270: "Ordered and resolved that the following Advertisement be written and posted at the Watch-House in Charles Town; as also Copies therof, in some publick Places in the Country; viz.," (this was an Act of the General Assembly...goes on to talk about informats of Fraud.... "Notice to the Indians residing in the Settlements that they may be furnished with such Goods as they want in Barter for Skins, Furs &c. by the several under-mentioned Persons at their respective Plantations, viz., Col. George Logan at Wandoe, Col. John Barnwell at Port Roayal, Col. George Chicken at Goose Creek, Capt. Johathan Drake at James' Island and Court Baw, Mr. Samll. Deane at Ashley Ferry, Col. John Fenwick at Stonoe, Capt. William Scott at New London, Capt. John Whitmarsh at Edistoe and Capt. Thomas Dymes at Dorchester. Given &c." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pg 244 Dec 21, 1717 "Upon Motion made by Col. John Barnwell, that whereas Ralph Izard, Exq. had signified to him, as well as to other Persons, that he would not any longer act as Commissioner or Cashier for the Indian Trade, and whereas it is absolutely requisite for the managing the said Trade, as the Act directs, as Commissioner, in case he shall actually declare that he will not continue therein; Col. George Chicken was proposed to succeed, and supply the Room of Ralph Izard, Esq., as Commissioner at this Board; Whereupon it is resolved unanimously that (provided Ralph Izard, Esq. upon Notice given him by this Board, shall refuse and decline acting any longer as a Commissioner of this Board) then Col. George Chicken be, and he is hereby chosen, nominated and appointed a Commissioner of the Indian Trad, as aforesaid; he qualifieing himslf, as the Act in such Case dirests; and in case of his Refusal that then Mr. Edward Brailsford be, and he is hereby chosen, nominated and appointed a Commissioner, as aforesaid." On January 16, 1717/18 Board met and Col. George Chicken "hath been summoned, and refuseth to qualifie himself, to serve as a Commissioner aforesaid;" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ These were the only entries I found.
