In the wealth of genealogical information on this list, I can't help but
wonder if somewhere there are any records or histories of people born with
mental retardation.

I am specifically interested in Down Syndrome, also known as mongolism, and
before that, I have no idea what they called the condition.

Is there any record of someone (with this condition) living a long
productive life in a community? (prior to 1960)

My branch of FRINK family in America since 1630 will end with my son who is
diagnosed with this condition caused by an extra piece of the 21st
chromosone in each cell of his body.

I would be very interested an any information prior to (?) 1960.
