Gov. of South Carolina, dated Charles Town 22 August 1782, asking for credit to be given bearer, Thomas Skottowe, Register of the Court of Ordinary of Charles Town, gent. Testator bequeaths whole estate to his son James Reid when he shall come of age, subject to the just claims of his nephew Thomas Burlington and his niece Elizabeth ?Burlington. Executors and guardians of his son to be his friends John Wagneer of Charles Town, gent. and Robert Johnston of Charles Town. Esq., attorney at law, Witnesses: Thomas Hamett, W.H. Bampfeild, and Clement Stevens. On 17 May 1784 Mr. Clement Stevens appeared personally to testify that he was a witness to the will. Administration granted 28 June 1784 to John Tunno ,Esq., attorney for Robert Johnston, Esq. now residing in East Florida, and for John Wagner, now residing in Charles Town.
