pg.52 ALEXANDER TRENCH OF SOUTHJ CAROLINA-1730. Will of Alexander Trench of 
Grandvill Ccounty, South Carolina, merchant, dated 1 January 1729/30. To be 
buried in the Churchyard of Charles Town where my wife Hester Trench is 
buried. My debts to be paid from the money due to me from the sale of my 
household furniture in my house at Whitehall and at my lodging in Charles 
Town. My slaves---6 men, 3 women and 3 boys--to be sold. My cattle on Trench 
Island, being only mine upon the Island, and my stock in the hands of John 
and Mathew Nelson in my Barrony of Raplioe to be sold. What remains after 
charges and debts have been paid is to be remitted to my brother Councellor 
Frederick Trench in Dublin for the use of my dear son Frederick Trench. The 
remainder of my land to the said Frederick Trench  to be managed by my 
executor until he comes to the age of 18. My pew in the church in Port Royal 
for the use of any strangers not inhabitants  but transient persons. 
Executors Mr. John Wright, merchant, and Benjamin Whitaker esq., both of 
Charles Town. Dated 1 January 1729/30. Witnesses John Wallis, John Lining and 
Peter Shipard. Proved 4 December 1733 by Benjamin Whitacre, the surviving
