Subject: Re: Re: Gene Pool Database Info. From: Joe Jones Date: July 02, 2000 Ruth, You did a real service to this list. It is one of the most useful new sites I've seen lately. In only an hour, I've found something previously unknown about somebody in almost every surname I'm researching. It appears that all words you list must be in the entry for it to come up. For example, if I list JONES SMITH, it will find an entry that has JONES and SMITH in the same OR different fields. I was able to reduce the number of hits by entering the state (GA SC AL, etc. - one state at a time - that worked well) I also noticed that it works like marriage databases - If you type one surname (without given name), it will list that person separately in each applicable category. Thank you also for adding the guidance. I hadn't thought of trying place names, but I'm about to do that right now. Then I'm sending personal e-mails to some people who aren't on any Roots list.
