Chances are that your Gassaway family is descended from
Nicholas Gassoway who was in Anne Arundel Co., Md. in the
middle 1600s.   Your Thomas was probably born there as
most of the family remained in Maryland until a bit later.  I
have a very extensive history of the Gassaways but could not
locate it this morning.

They were from London and Nicholas Gassaway's ;
family is buried at St. Margaret's Church Westminster. This
church is called the "church of parliament" so it is close-by.

I have saved your message so I can send you anything I have
when I find my book.
