Is anyone working on this family. They were in Darlington Co 1810. I have
 clipping from a newspaper -The Baptist Courier-article by G.W.Gardner, written
 Jackson, GA, Jan 1894  re: Rev. Elijah Gardner son of William Gardner of
 Rev.,saying they came from VÅ and that his sons(whose sons) were James
 ,Stephen and Elijah. I know Stephen(b. ca 1805) and James were in Montgomery
 Co,AL ca 1830. There seem to be discrepancies in the artcile to me but need
 help on this family.
 I have DAR papers from a member on William Gardner, naming these sons and
 claiming William's wife was "Miss Draper". Some how dates do not seem to fit
 correctly and I am wondering if perhaps there is not a generation somehow
 missing.  It has been suggested to me that Stephen Gardner was somehow
 connected to a Nun Clark family of Marion Dist.,SC about 1809. Could this
 Stephen be son of the Rev./ William Gardner and This Stephen's son Stephen b
 ca 1805 be the one in Montgomery,AL
