     I posted a while back, but thought I'd post again just in case someone
new might have some info.  I'm looking for WILLIAM A. GAINES b. SC abt.
1835-1850.  He married a Matilda Frances Hurley and they moved to KS where
they had my g-grandfather CHARLES AUSTIN GAINES in 1880.  Any info. on Gaines
folks in SC around that time might be helpful - I admit I haven't checked the
census records in SC yet.  I did find a William Gaines in KS voting records in
1856, but I don't know if he's mine.  Any information would be greatly
appreciated!  Best wishes in your searches!
