Hi - 
I just joined this list and am happy to be aboard.  I am hoping that someone
will be able to offer some guidance or information about my g-g-grandfather
WILLIAM A. GAINES b. in SC (1835-1850?)  He married a MATILDA FRANCES HURLEY
b. 1841 PA.  It was likely a 2nd marriage for both, and I don't know if they
were even married in SC.  I do know the family moved to KS by 1880 because my
g-grandfather CHARLES AUSTIN GAINES was born in LaCygne, KS.  Is anyone
familiar with the Gaines family in SC?  I just don't know anything else about
William or how long his family might've been in SC.  Any help will be
appreciated!  Best of luck in your searches!
