As far as I know, he wasn't in the textile business. Just a thought, but there must have been some type of newspaper for the area he was from. Have you tried to locate an obituary? I haven't done that yet as I don't know date of death, but maybe you will have more luck. My wife's grandfather Clyde Holliman, died in Red River South Carolina, April 13, 1932. No record of his death exist. What I have heard, and I don't know if this is true, is that since he worked for the textile "community", the textile company was responsible for filing Death certificates, which they rarely did. Many folks who worked in that area/industry died without a trace. My mother-in-law was hustled off to an ophanage, as he mother was put out of the home that textile mill provided.
