Don't get your hopes up too much for finding death certificates in South
Carolina, even for those who died after 1911.

My wife's grandfather Clyde Holliman, died in Red River South Carolina,
April 13, 1932.

No record of his death exist. What I have heard, and I don't know if this
is true, is that since he worked for the textile "community", the textile
company was responsible for filing Death certificates, which they rarely
did. Many folks who worked in that area/industry died without a trace. My
mother-in-law was hustled off to an ophanage, as he mother was put out of
the home that textile mill provided. Pretty sad story and all.
