I descend from Francis Britton through his daughter Mary Britton Bellagh.  Does anyone have a proof of who his wife was and where she is buried?  Family history tells me that she died March 31, 1724 and is buried in "Ye French Churchyard", SC.   He was found on a warrant for 200 acres of land June 17, 1697 in probably Marion Co.SC.  I was told that he changed his name from Francois Bretaigne to Francis Britton.  I am thinking he was a Hugenot, but I can not prove it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
