Subject: Forum Reminder From: Steven J. Coker Date: August 27, 1998 Are your family members or co-workers tired of seeing all your genealogy email? If you want fewer genealogy emails, try subscribing to the Digest version (-D) which compiles several messages into a single batch email message. Or, try the following. 1. Most Internet Service Providers allow their customers to use separate email addresses for each family member sharing an account. Find out if your service provider will do this for you. They should, it is a common practice. If they don't, look around for a better provider. 2. Install a Browser and Email program which allows you to setup user configurations for each person using the computer. Netscape does this very well. You can download it from http://www.netscape.com. Note: AOL users are limited to the AOL email program. 3. Setup user configurations for each different email address. When you set things up this way, each person sharing the computer will be able to send and receive email for their own email address. And, they will not get the email of other people sharing the computer. The program will keep the emails sorted and saved separately for each person.
