Dear Steve and the rest of members
To you Steve I want to thank you for the timely way you answered my request
for material relating to the location of Info on SC records etc.
Next week I will be 75yrs young. All of my working life was spent in the
Publishing
Industry or Libraries. Eight of those years was spent in the one Library
that holds
some of the oldest known printed Broadsides(Houghton Lib. at Harv. Univ)
In my lifetime I have read a lot of intelligent and well thought out
writing.
But I also had to read a lot of Not so good witing-Que Serra Serra!
I originally joined this list because my roots go back to Fairfield Co. ca
1780-Up
and I thought that people who subscribed to this list would abide by the
rules as
set up by the List Owner. HaHaHa!
I have read over 2000 messages on this list and so far NOT ONE contained
anything that has helped me to locate any of my Ancestors in SC.
I am looking for ONE name and One name Only.
I found much info at NARA in Waltham Ma. and thought that I might be abkle
to expand on this by joining your list. That is not the case.
Usually' on most list, If someone mentions info that is useful to a certain
person
then that person will reply to the sender PRIVATELY in order not to clutter
the
list with a lot of back and forth which is only germain to one person.
Not Here! And I belong to quite a few lists that I find very helpfull.
But I cannot stay here any longer and listen to a bunch of CLUB HOUSE
lawyers
Copywrites are usually only good for 17yrs and then they have to be renewed.
Go back to the original suit between the songwriters and radio stations and
the
sheet music sellers! That was the beginning of ASCAP. And now there is BMI.
And so it is with regrets and a very BIG THANX to you Steve that I now have
to
ask you to

UNSCRIBE ME

And in the words of JIMMIE DURANTE "First you gotta go and then you gotta
stay"
