Norman, I am not certain, my NEWBY is Leroy (1799-1845) of Chesterfield
County, VA to Laurens and Greenville, South Carolina. He married Mahala
Springfield (1804-1873) and had William, Thomas, Mary, Mahala, Susan Jane and
Minnie Evaline NEWBY.

I believe that there was a ROBERT Newby who was a near relative of MY Leroy
living in Laurens in the 1800's and Leroy moved there to be near family. I
have no knowledge of any other Newbys being related to my line--but it's very
possible.
My Newby connects to Adkins, Farmer, Farguson, Ferguson, and others in
Chesterfield County. This family connects to my grandmother's Pettipoole,
P'Pool,, Poole family in Greenville.

If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know.
Thanks and have a great day!
