Just an FYI...not sure if it's yours, but....
I see HUDSON and FARMER with my NEWBY, ADKINS and FERGUSON family in
Chesterfield County, VA. (Leroy NEWBY came to settle in Laurens Co., SC and
married my "mystery woman", Mahala SPRINGFIELD.) 
I found a great collection of Chesterfield court records in a small book
called 

"Court Records in Chesterfield County , Virginia of the FRANKLIN, BRINTLE,
BRIDGEWATER, NUNNALLY AND RELATED FAMILIES." by Mrs. Frank J. Thompson. I
believe it was published in 1934, but that was not clear on the photocopied
book at the Sutro Library in San Francisco.

There are Jool and Simeon HUDSON listed in these records, plus the FARMER
names of:
Abnor, Agnes, Artor, Asley, Darius, Dyco, Edea, Elizabeth, Elam, Fanny,
Forest, Frederick, James, Jool, Joseph, Judea, Lodowick, Mark, Phebe,
Pleasant, Samuel, Sarah, Seth, Thomas, William.
My FARMER line does not come into SC.....nor my FERGUSON, but the NEWBY line
does, and that eventually connects to my Pettipoole, P'Pool, Poole family in
Greenville, SC.
