I agree, but would add that if the info has errors about your family members, 
i.e., grandparents, great grandparents, etc., and you know these are errors, 
you should 
offer corrections to the person. I recently sent corrected names for my 
grandfather and his siblings and for my mother and her siblings to someone 
who published a book (which I bought) about one of my family surnames. She  
had not used anything other than a couple of newspaper articles and "word of 
mouth" for my branch, yet published her book anyway. I was very polite, but 
have not heard back from her. If no one corrects mistakes, they continue to 
be repeated. Her book has been printed twice with errors.
