In my husband's family, I have a William John Ellis, b. ca
1844, served in
the Civil War, was a policeman in Charleston and owned a
meat market
(perhaps in Charleston). He married Helen McKenzie. Is this
Wm. Jno. Ellis
your Wm. Jno. Ellis? If you have more information on him, I
would be happy
to share with you what I have.
Thanks
