This second day of October in the year of our Lord 1787 and in the eleventh year of American Independence, etc, etc, etc, I Elizabeth Westberry of St Andrews Parish, being weak of Body but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory, praise be given to God for the same, but knowing the uncertainy of this life on Earth and being desirious to settle Things in order, do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following, that is to say; First and Principally, I command my soul to Almighty God my Creator, assuredly believing that I shall receive full Pardon and free Remission of all my Sins and be saved by the Precious Death and Merits of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer, Christ Jesus, and my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in a Christian Manner. As touching such worldy Estate as the Lord in Mercy hath lent me, my will and pleasure is; Item- All my lawful debts and funeral charges be paid. Item- I give unto my granddaughter, Susannah Myers, one pound, seventeen shilling and four pence Sterling Money to be paid within the space of two years after my decease, as may be most convient for my daughter Ann Man, or her heirs or Executors. Item- I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter, Ann Man and the Heirs of her Body forever, all the rest of my worldly property that I may possess, that is to say, All wearing Apparel, Household furniture, stock, etc,etc,etc. My Negroes, a wench named Hannah, a wench named Phillis, a fellow named Jemmy, a boy named Tom, a boy named Cudjoe, a boy named Toby, a girl named little Hannah and a girl named Dauphney. Item- I do hereby authorize and appoint my beloved daughter, Ann Man, Executrix; my nephews Samuel Stent and John Stent with John Freaser of Ashley Ferry, to be Executors to this, my last Will and Testament.
