From the SC Gazette, January 12, 1767:

"On Wednesday the 11th of February next, will sold at public vendue, at
the plantation of the late CAPTAIN JOHN DUTARQUE, deceased:
"THE PLANTATION lately belonging to the said deceased, containing 350
acres, in St. Thomas's parish; buting to the south on lands of MR. ISAAC
HUGER, to the west on lands of MR. JOHN DUTARQUE, to the north and to
the east on lands of the said deceased:  the said tract has a large
quantity of as good rice and corn land as any in the province; and has
on it a large dwelling house, two good barnds, out-houses, etc.
"Also to be sold, one other tract of land, containing 400 acres, butting
to the south and to the east on lands of Mr. ISAAC HUGER; and to the
west and north on lands of the said deceased.  The said tract is
inferioir to none in the province for corn and rice, the greater part
being uncleared.
"Also another tract of pine land, containing 200; butting to the south
on the above tracts, with a good reservoir on it, which would suit
either of the above tracts.
"Also 500 acres of pine land, in St. Thomas's parish, well timbered;
butting to the north-west on Mr. EDWARD THOMAS's lands to the south-east
on lands of MR. NATHAN TART.
"Also 450 acres of pine land in St. Thomas's parish aforesaid; butting
to the south on VINCENT GUERIN, to the west on lands of ROBERT JOHNSTON,
and to the north on Messrs. JOHN MUSGROVE and JAMES GOODBY, east on
lands of MR. JOHN DUTARQUE, jun.
"Also 200 acres of pine land in the above parish; butting to the south
on MR. JOHN DUTARQUE's lands, and to the west on MR. DANIEL LESESNE's
land.
"Likewise four other tracts of land, containing together 1650 acres,
extraordinary good for corn, rice and indico, which will be sold
together, or separte; said tract is known by the name of Oak Ridge.
"At the same time will be sold, the personal estate of the said
deceased, consisting of about 50 valuable slaves, amongst whom are good
sawyers, squarers, a jobbing carpenter and cooper, handy boys and girls,
household furniture, about 200 head of tame cattle, amongst which are
fifty head of oxen, some sheep, hogs, plantation tools, etc.
"The conditions will be made known on the day of sale.
"All persons indebted to said estate are desired to make speedy payment
and those having any demands to bring them in properly attested.
