The following information is taken from The Bonner Family History, Sue Bonner 
Thornton, 1972. The Huguenot Society of South Carolina, Transactions is 
listed as the source. 

p. 477 - Thomas Joel, Jr. was the son of Captain Thomas Joel and Hester 
Dutarque. They were married May 22, 1763. Hester Dutarque was buried October 
14, 1773. 

p. 480 - Hester Dutarque's father was Captain John Dutarque, born 1707, son 
of Louis Dutarque and Christian Maria. His will dated September 29, 1766 and 
proved January 2, 1767 stated he lived in St. Thomas Parish County and 
mentioned his wife Mary Dutarque and his son-in-law Captain Thomas Joel. Capta
in John Dutarque was buried October 11, 1767 on his plantation. Mary 
Dutarque's will was dated March 13, 1767 and proved November 7, 1767. 

pp. 482-3 - Louis Dutarque, father of Captain John Dutarque, was the first of 
the family in South Carolina. His name appears twice, numbers 95 and 145, on 
the Liste des Francois et Suisses Refugiez en Caroline qui souheittent d'etre 
naturalizes Anglois under the Act of 1696 for French Protestants seeking 
naturalization.
    The identification of his numbers are:
        No. 95 Louis Dutarque ne en Picardie, fils de Mathias Dutarque, et de 
Anne Foulon
        No. 145 Louis DuTarque, natit a en Picardie, fils de Mathieu du 
Tarque et d'Anne.
    He was the son of Mathias Dutarque and Anne Foulon of Picardie.

    Louis Dutarque held warrants for land: 300 @ dated August 16, 1701. 600 @ 
dated July 6, 1708 in Berkeley County.
    His stock marks were registered August 19, 1697 as of Berkeley County.
    Louis Dutarque married Christian Maria who died February 6, 1732.
