DRAWDY, WILLIAM J.	1828-1863 	IRWIN

William Jackson Drawdy was born in Irwin County in 1828, a son of Thomas 
Drawdy. He was married in that county Sept. 13, 1849, to his first cousin's 
widow, Mrs Dora Ann Fletcher Drawdy. She was born May 12, 1826, in Irwin 
County, a daughter of Joseph Fletcher (Vol.I). She first married James 
Drawdy, son of Daniel Drawdy (Vol.I), March 28, 1843, and by him had three 
children, viz: Mary, born 1844, married -------- Gary; Daniel, born 1846, 
married (wife's name unknown) and died at Plant City, Fla.; and Martha Ann, 
born 1848, married J. W. Gandie, Dec. 1, 1868,
in Sumter Co. Fla. After James Drawdy's early death in 1848, his widow 
married his first cousin, so that both sets of her children bore the Drawdy 
name.
By her second marriage, the following children were born:

1. James A.	b. 1850, m. Luraney Turner.
2. George H.	b. 1854, m. Alma McCranie, dau. of Duncan.
3. William J. Jr.	b. 1856, m. Matilda Green.
4. Marie Jane	b. 1857, m. Allen M. Murphey.
5. Newton	b. 1859, died single.
6. Georgia Ann	b. 1861, m. Joseph S. Tucker. Dec. 8, 1880.

William J. Drawdy lost his life in the Confederate Army but details of his 
service and when and where he died and whether killed or died of disease 
have not been learned. Not long after the war, the widow and children moved 
to Lake Dora, Florida, where she reared the children to maturity and where 
she died July 21, 1883. She was buried in the Umatilla (Fla.) Cemetery not 
far from her home.

DRAWDY,GEORGE	1848-1910 		CHARLTON

George Drawdy was born in 1848 in Irwin County, a son of Daniel and Amy 
Drawdy (Vol.I). He moved with his parents in 1852 to Charlton County, where 
he met and married Emily Thompson, daughter of James Thompson (Vol.V). 
Emily was born in 1849. They had nine children:

1. Andrew J.	b. 1868,	m. Callie Swain.
2. William	b. 1870,	m. Ella Sloan.
3. Lelia	b. 1872,	m. Isaac Winegourd.
4. Smith	b. 1874,	m. Annis Willis.
5. George	b. 1876,	m. Minnie Swain.
6. Laura	b. 1878,	m. never married, died young.
7. Kansas	b. 1881,	m. Levi Brewer, Ft. Meade, Fla.
8. Texas	b. 1883,	m. Lewis Raulerson, Okeechobee, Fla.
9. Merida	b- 1885,	m. Will Raulerson.

George and Emily Drawdy moved to near Fort Drumm, Florida about 1890, where 
they lived and died. They were both members of the Primitive Baptist 
Church.

DRAWDY, WILLIAM (p. 72): (1st) He was a member of Goose Creek Baptist 
Church in Appling (now Wayne) County, and is shown by the Piedmont Baptist 
Association's minutes as a delegate from that church in 1836, 1837 and 
1839. (2nd) The maiden name of the wife of the son, George W. Drawdy, was 
Nancy Spells. (3rd) The name of the husband of the daughter, Elizabeth, was 
William Caldwell, and she was born in 1824.

DRAWDY, LEVI (p. 73): (1st) Mr; Drawdys last wife, Delilah Ann, was not a 
daughter of King Hinson, but rather was his sister. Her first husband was 
Noah Green by whom she had nine children who lived in Berrien, Clinch and 
nearby counties. (2nd) There was no daughter named Ann. (3rd) There were 
only two children by the second wife, viz., Sylvester M. Drawdy and Perry 
Drawdy. (4th) The second husband of the daughter, Keziah, was Horace Cox of 
Clinch County, a son of Samuel D. Cox of Berrien County.

DRAWDY, DANIEL (p. 70): He resided in Telfair County in 1818 at which time 
he served in the militia under Capt. John Wilcox in repelling Indian raids 
upon the frontiers of the county. In his application for bounty land, 
executed Feb 6, 1858, he stated that his company was hastily called out to 
drive the Indians back and punish them; that on the evening of March 30, 
1818, they came upon the savages and a severe engagement ensued in which 
five whites were killed and three others wounded. The company then was 
permitted to return to their homes and await further orders. His 
application was denied on account of no company rolls being found in 
Washington. His application was supported by the affidavit of Redding Hu  
nter and John Lawson, both of whom testified they were in the same 
engagement with him.

DRAWDY, LEVI (p. 73): He served in the Indian War as a private under Capt. 
Samuel E. Swilley, 2nd Regiment, Florida militia, June 16 to Dec. 16, 1837.

DRAWDY, LEVI (p. 73): There was another daughter named Mary Ann; she 
married Green Pearson of Echols county, being his first wife, and died some 
years before her father died.

DRAWDY, WILLIAM (p. 72): His daughter, Mary Ann, married William (or 
William S.) Middleton, a son of Alexander G. Middleton. The son, George W. 
Drawdy, married Nancy Spell. The daughter, Susannah, married Peter Welch, 
and the daughter, Elizabeth C., married William Colwell.

DRAWDY, JAMES C. (p. 127): His daughter, Martha Ann, married Andrew J. 
Knight, Jr.
